Kansas names Jeff Long as its new athletic director.

Kansas has hired a new athletic director with a high profile. The university announced the hiring of former Arkansas AD Jeff Long on Thursday.

Long was athletic director of Pitt from 2003-2007, and as Arkansas AD from 2008-2017. He also served as the inaugural College Football Selection committee chairman from 2014-2015.
At Arkansas, Long was responsible for the hiring of former Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino, who was fired in 2012 after a now infamous motorcycle accident in  The incident involved an Arkansas athletic department employee whom Petrino was reportedly romatically involved with.
Long replaces Sheaon Zenger, who was fired by the university on May 21.
