Could the Big Ten send ten teams to bowl games in 2016?

Bowl Eligibility Watch

Iowa's joined the ranks of the Big Ten's bowl eligible teams following its upset over Michigan in Week 11. Seven Big Ten teams are eligible, with three teams having a relatively good shot of joining them in the final two weeks of the season.

Here's the rundown of the B1G's bowl eligible teams, and the ones still looking for the elusive sixth win they need to have a relevant December.

Bowl projections are via SB*Nation's Jason Kirk.

Bowl Eligible Teams (Six-plus wins)

Michigan (9-1)
Bowl Projection: 2016 Fiesta Bowl vs. Clemson (College Football Playoff) (Dec. 31, Glendale, Az.)

Ohio State (9-1)
Bowl Projection: 2017 Rose Bowl Game vs. USC (New Year's Six Bowl)(Jan. 2, 2017, Pasadena, Ca.)

Penn State (8-2)
Bowl Projection: 2016 Orange Bowl vs. Florida State (NY6 Bowl) (Dec. 31, 2016, Miami, Fl.)

Wisconsin (8-2)
Bowl Projection: 2017 Cotton Bowl vs. Western Michigan (NY6 Bowl) (Jan. 2, 2016, Arlington, Tx.)

Nebraska (8-2)
Bowl Projection: 2017 Outback Bowl vs. Auburn (Jan. 2, 2017, Tampa, Fl.)

Minnesota (7-3)
Bowl Projection: 2016 Holliday Bowl vs. Washington State (Dec. 27, San Diego, Ca.)

Iowa (6-4)
Bowl Projection: 2016 Music City Bowl vs. Arkansas (Dec. 30, Nashville, Tn.)

On the Brink (Five wins, one win away from bowl eligibility)

Indiana (5-5)
Week 12: @Michigan (Nov. 19)

All I'll say here is that it's probably lucky Indiana hosts Purdue in the last game of the season on Nov. 26. It's the better chance for the Hoosiers to get a sixth win.

Maryland (5-5)
Week 12: @Nebraska (Nov. 19)

Is there a possibility Nebraska gets upset by the Terrapins this Saturday? Probably not. Maryland hosts Rutgers on Nov. 26. That's where you could possibly see the upset.

Northwestern (5-5)
Week 12: @Minnesota (Nov. 19)

Northwestern probably has a fair shot to defeat Minnesota this Saturday. It hosts 3-7 Illinois on Nov. 26, so the chances are good the Wildcats will be headed to a bowl this season.
