Last week Baylor demoted Kenneth Starr from his position as president of the university to that of chancellor. The move was part of the fallout from the scandal surrounding the school's failure to respond to charges of sexual assault by members of the Baylor football team.
Today, Starr resigned from his chancellor role as well.
''I didn't know about what was happening, but I have to, and I willingly do accept responsibility. The captain goes down with the ship,'' said Starr, who was hired as president of the nation's largest Baptist university in 2010 after gaining renown as the special prosecutor who investigated Clinton's affair with Lewinsky, a White House intern."
Starr will continue to have a position as a teacher at Baylor's law school.
