If you're into fringe science and conspiracy theories, there may be a film under development that might be up your alley. Deadline reports that Michael Almereyda, director of the recent Stanley Milgram biopic Experimenter, is set to start work on Tesla, a biopic of legendary/infamous inventor and physicist Nikola Tesla.

Tesla, whom Elan Musk named his electric vehicle company after, has long been a hero of conspiracy spanks theorists who feel history has given the Serbian-born scientist a raw deal. Known for his work in the development of the induction motor and invention of the Tesla coil, Tesla was a rival of Thomas Edison, whom he competed against in what's been called the "War of Currents." Edison eventually won out, and Tesla went into virtual obscurity.

Almereyda's next film Marjorie Prime, an adaption of the Jordan Harrison play about an elderly woman (played by Lois Smith) who uses a holographic version of her late husband (played by Jon Hamm) as a companion. It's set for a 2016 release.

Actually Edison wanted DC current for transmission and Tesla was the AC man. Tesla won out. Thus you have AC voltage in your home
