2016 Cactus Bowl Projections: Kansas St. Could Make It To Phoenix Without A Winning Record.

The SWRT review of whom the some of the experts are projecting for the bowls comes to the 2016 Cactus Bowl. It's a Big-12 vs. Pac-12 matchup that could find itself inviting currently 5-6 Kansas State. That would depend on a) Kansas St. defeating West Virginia on Saturday, making it 6-6 and bowl eligible or b) A 5-7 Kansas St. qualifying for a bowl because of its Academic Progress Rate (APR).

Kansas St. head coach Bill Snyder has said it would be up to Wildcats players as to whether the team would accept a bowl bid with a 5-7 record. If they decided to decline an invitation, it would mean the Cactus Bowl would have to find an alternate selection.

Official bowl name: Motel 6 Cactus Bowl

Bowl previously known as: Copper Bowl, Bowl, Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Date: Jan 2, 2016

Location: Chase Field, Phoenix Arizona

Conference affiliations: Big 12 and Pac-12

Last year's results: Oklahoma State beat Washington 30-22

Nevada vs. Cal

Fischer and College Sports Madness are the only ones who believe the Cactus Bowl will have to go to the Mountain West Conference to find a replacement for the Big 12. The 6-6 Nevada Wolf Pack is the lucky team they see getting the nod.
