It looks as though the competition for starting quarterback at Texas A&M is over. Head coach Kevin Sumlin has announced that Aggies have decided to stick with Kyle Allen as the team's starting quarterback to open the 2015 college football season.

Allen was the starter in eight games in 2014, but faced stiff competition for the starting QB job this year from much-hyped freshman QB Kyler Murray.

Allen became starting QB for the Aggies following the meteoric rise and fall of Kenny Hill at the start of the 2014 season. He went on to go 3-2 in 2014, including a big win over Auburn on Nov. 8, and a win over West Virginia in the 2014 Liberty Bowl on Dec. 29.

Texas A&M's first game of the 2015 season will be a neutral-site game against Arizona State on at NRG Stadium in Houston, Tx. on Sept. 5.
