Mark Richt nixes hopes for Georgia donning black jerseys against Auburn.

Matthew Stafford, Auburn-Georgia Game 2007.

There's some bad news if you were hoping that Georgia would break out black jerseys for Saturday night's home game against Auburn. Head coach Mark Richt has totally nipped the idea in the bud.

"Told some players had tweeted about black jerseys, coach Mark Richt was asked if there was a chance the team would wear them on Saturday.

“No,” Richt said laughing. “There’s no chance. Wishful thinking for them.”

Georgia had a notable win against Auburn wearing blacks jerseys in 2007. On the other hand, the Dawgs also had one of their more embarrassing losses while wearing black jerseys the following year against Alabama. Mark Richt, along with a good chunk of the Bulldog Nation, are obviously still traumatized from that.
