The Louisville Courier-Journal reported Sunday morning that Louisville wide receiver James Quick and Kentucky defensive end Jason Hatcher were cited for possession of marijuana by University of Louisville police back on May 26.

The pair (who were high school teammates) were in Quick's apartment on the University of Louisville campus when campus police were investigating complaints of "marijuana odor" inside the apartment building.

The Louisville Courier-Journal provided a report on the incident.

"The officer who wrote the citation noted he found 39.5 grams of marijuana in Quick's possession, plus a digital scale and a marijuana grinder, which prompted Quick's citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hatcher had 2.5 grams of marijuana in his pocket when police arrived at the apartment, according to the citation."

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino responded in a statement about  Quick's involvement in the incident, stating "We are aware of the situation involving James Quick and are very disappointed in his actions. We will handle the situation appropriately from within the program."

Kentucky football spokesman Tony Neely also responded to Hatcher's involvement with "  "We are aware of it and will address it when all the facts have been determined."

Hatcher faces a June 23 court date on his charges. While Quick has a July 7 court date.
