UCLA adds Florida RB prospect T.J. Simmons to its 2015 recruiting class.

UCLA has landed the commitment of Lakeland, Fl. high school rising senior running back T.J. Simmons for its 2015 recruiting class. Simmons is the seventh prospect to commit to the Bruins for next season's recruiting class.

Former Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen was killed in a automobile accident early Sunday morning. He was 23 years old. 

Lutzenkirchen played for Auburn from 2009 to 2012.  He was a member of the undefeated 2010 Auburn team that went on to win the SEC and BCS titles. 

The Opelika-Auburn News paid tribute to Lutzenkirchen on the front page of its sports section with a photo taken during the Tiger's 2010 victory over Georgia.

 Georgia baseball player Joseph Ian Davis also died in the accident. 

Condolences go out to the family and friends of Philip Lutzenkirchen.

The mascots of the Big Ten held a nightmare convention in front of the White House recently to promote the addition of Maryland and Rutgers to the conference. The group's selfie was shared with an unsuspecting world by the B1G's Twitter account.

Georgia and Notre Dame agree on home-at-home series for 2017 and 2019.

Georgia and Notre Dame have agreed to meet in a home-at-home series in 2017 and 2019.

The Bulldogs will travel to South Bend to face the Irish on Sept. 19, 2017. The Irish will reciprocate with a trip to Athens to face the Dawgs on Sept. 21, 2019.

Texas A&M continued with its recent recruiting success on Monday. Tarpon Springs, Fl. high school rising senior kicker Daniel LaCamera has become the 18th prospect to commit to the Aggies' 2015 recruiting class, and the the ninth prospect to do so in a twenty-five day period.

Auburn's one-two recruiting punch continued Tuesday with the commitment of Montgomery, Al. high school rising senior tight end Jalen Harris to its 2015 recruiting class.

Auburn managed a big win over Alabama in the in-state recruiting wars on Tuesday. Gadsden, Al. high school rising senior offensive guard Tyler Carr chose the Tigers over the Crimson Tide as his 2015 college destination.

Tennessee head coach Butch Jones just got a major show of support from a truly important player in recent Tennessee football history - Denver Broncos starting quarterback Peyton Manning, who is making the rounds in Knoxville this week.

"I think it's going in the right direction," said Manning, the 1997 Heisman Trophy runner-up. "I think Butch had a lot of work to do when he got here. He's put in that work. He's signing some of his players. Every coach wants to have their players. He's been patient. At the same time, he's been hard-working, as he was advertised to be. He's done that. I just see it continuing to get better. I really do."

Manning's rounds in Knoxville on Monday included a charity golf tournament benefiting East Tennessee Children's Hospital, and his own PeyBack Foundation charity. He also presented the 2014 Manning Scholarships to University of Tennessee students Alex Crockett and Cody Sain.

Washington State linebacker Ivan McLennan is facing charges of unlawful handling of weapons capable of producing bodily harm. McLennan was arrested on Sunday by Pullman, Wa. police after he allegedly pointed an airsoft gun at at least one person described as a "student."

The story behind former Florida wide receivers coach Joker Phillips' abrupt resignation on Wednesday is getting a little clearer. Charles Robinson and Pat Forde are reporting that Phillips was allegedly involved with a possible recruiting violation with a high school prospect.

Another LSU player has  gotten in trouble with the law. Baton Rouge Police arrested LSU defensive back Jalen Mills on charges of second degree battery Wednesday morning.
