Michigan State's chances for a victory in the Rose Bowl may have taken a big hit. Senior linebacker Max Bullough was suspended by the team early on Thursday morning for the ever-vague violation of team rules. Bullough had 76 tackles during the 2013 season, 9.5 of which led to loss of yardage.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said in a statement that  “it is extremely disappointing for all parties involved, ”and that “Max will forever remain a Spartan and a valued member in this team’s achievements.”

Bullough is a third-generation Spartan. His father and grandfather both played for Michigan State. Bullough's younger brother Riley is also a member of the current Mich. St team.
