Nebraska columnist responds to Bo Pelini's comments about him in now-infamous rant.

Omaha World-Herald columnist Tom Shatel was one of the targets of Nebraska head football coach Bo Pelini's now-infamous napalm-all-the-bridges profanity-laden rant from 2011 that has gone viral. Naturally, Shatel has responded to Pelini in his latest column.

"I heard the audio. I read the comments. No apology is necessary. I've been cursed at by better coaches than Pelini. Worse coaches, too."

Translation: You're nothing special, Bo.

"Over the years, I've found Bo good to work with one-on-one. Never dull. He's yelled at me over the phone and 10 minutes later was baring his soul to me."

Are so saying Pelini's bipolar there, Tom? And here we all were thinking that Pelini only had two settings of "rage" and "even more rage."

"We've had a good working relationship. I assume we still will."

Translation: I have doubts that you're going to be around for much longer, Bo. Nice to know you.

"What I don't get is all the unnecessary drama.

Isn't the job tough enough without calling out former legends and the most loyal fans in college football?"

Obligatory shout out to the fans so as to hide the fact this it all about you and me bro...I mean Bo.

It looks like it's going to be a very interesting rest of the season in Lincoln, for all the wrong reasons.
