Johnny Manziel is the SEC's Male Athlete of the Year.

Johnny Manziel's life is just better than yours.

The SEC named its Male Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, and surprise! It's Texas A&M starting quarterback Johnny Manziel. Like it was going to be anybody else than the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and most talked about college player since that Tim Tebow guy.

“The SEC is very proud to honor Johnny and Allison, as they are outstanding examples of what a student-athlete can accomplish through hard work and dedication.” said SEC commissioner Mike Slive in a statement. “Their commitment to excellence have made them fine representatives of their universities and this conference.  We congratulate them and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”

After winning the Heisman, the Davey O'Brien Award, and Manning Award, SEC Male Athlete of the Year may seem an afterthought. Still, having the conference recognize the player who may have had one of the best individual seasons of all time is still a big deal. Especially for a freshman looking to add a BCS title to his resume this season.
