The College Football Playoff is a boring name, but who cares?

The college football playoff that will succeed the BCS has a name, and it is...the College Football Playoff. And the crowd goes...mild.

Okay, so the College Football Playoff not the most exciting name in the world. But it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be something that will look good next to the name of a corporate sponsor, which we all know is the more important thing, right?

There are some pluses in favor of the College Football Playoff moniker. It's self-explanatory for one thing. It's to the point. It's...wait a mimute, I'll thing of something.I'm sure I will. Just give me a second.

Most annoying part of the name? The fact that it uses "Playoff" instead of "Playoffs." It just sounds better when you use "Playoffs" instead of the singular form. "Playoff" feels more pedestrian and somewhat uncouth. "Playoffs" is more elegant.

At least there is something in college football that at least resembles a playoff system. That's a start.
