Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight latest in a line of Texas QB's not recruitied by the Longhorns,

Oklahoma QB Trevor Wright.

Oklahoma redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight is competing for the right to succeed Landry Jones as the Sooners' starting QB. He's in a competition with two other Sooner QB's Blake Bell and Kendal Thompson. The San Antonio native Knight grew up as a Texas fan. The reason he's not at Texas now is an old one by now - he wasn't recruited by the Longhorns.

“Longhorn this, Longhorn that,” remembered his oldest brother, Tyler Knight. “He had a big basketball goal on the wall with a Longhorn head on it. I knew (Oklahoma) was where his heart was, but it's funny.”

If Knight is successful at  Oklahoma, he would become the latest in a line of Lone Star State quarterbacks that were passed over by Texas. That includes current Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, and Texas A&M starting QB Johnny Manziel -  the two most recent Heisman Trophy winners. Texas might not be able to handle much more of this.
