A.J. McCarron is honorary pace car driver for Aaron's 499 race at Talladega.
Alabama starting quarterback A.J. McCarron finally has a honor that he can one-up fellow SEC QB and BFF Johnny Manziel with (Until Manziel reminds A.J. that Texas A&M kicked his butt last season, that is). McCarron has been named the Honorary Pace Car Driver for this weekend's Aaron's 499 Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.
"I have enjoyed races at Talladega before and have always had a passion to get up to speed on the track," McCarron said in a news release. "This is an incredible opportunity, and to be able to do it in front of the most famous drivers in the world, is something I am really looking forward to."
Retired Atlanta Brave third baseman Chipper Jones will be the Aaron's 499 Grand Marshall.
