Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly interviews for Philadelphia's head coaching vacancy.

Brian Kelly watching his perfect season go down in flames on Monday.

Nobody involved with the Philadelphia Eagles organization watched Monday's BCS title game 42-14 tub-thumping of Notre Dame by Alabama. That may be the only explanation possible of why the Eagles went ahead and interviewed ND head football coach Brian Kelly on Tuesday for its vacant HC position. This according to AP reporter Ron Maaddi.

Kelly is one of three coaches to have been interviewed by the Eagles since the firing of the team's former HC Andy Reid. The team also interviewed Oregon HC Chip Kelly and Penn State HC Bill O'Brien. Both decided to stay at their respective schools.

Fighting Irish fans probably shouldn't worry too much about Kelly leaving South Bend for the City of Brotherly Love, at least for the moment. It's doubtful Kelly would abandon his team after Monday night's grease fire in Miami for the Towering Inferno that is the Eagles.
