Kentucky has found its man to replace former head football coach Joker Phillips, and it's Mark Stoops. Stoops is currently the defensive coordinator of Florida State. Stoops is the brother of Oklahoma HC Bob Stoops.

"The university announced Tuesday that Stoops will replace Joker Phillips, who was fired on Nov. 4. Phillips went 13-24 in three seasons at Kentucky.

The 45-year-old Stoops will be introduced here at a news conference on Sunday. No. 13 Florida State (10-2) plays Georgia Tech in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Saturday."

Wildcat faithful may be disappointed in not getting a new coach with a higher profile. On the other hand, the most notable former FSU coach in the SEC just happens to be Mark Richt. Maybe Kentucky will see lightning strike twice.
