The "Pete Caroll for Arkansas head coach meme" exists, is stupid.

It was inevitable this was going to happen. Current Seattle Seahawks head football coach Pete Caroll was once a lowly graduate assistant at Arkansas in 1977. Things aren't going as planned in Seattle. Things aren't a barrel of monkeys back in Fayettville these days either, what with that messy Bobby Petrino stuff during the offseason. Worse, The Razorbacks lost to Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday. Which, of course, is an even more undesirable event for Arkansas fans.

Quicker than you can say "Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?" comes obvious meme. You've already got Caroll and Arkansas. Add some Carly Rae Jespen, and the obvious happens:

Too bad this probably won't happen. Hiring Pete Caroll as John L. Smith's replacement at Arkansas, while requiring nothing but the kind of brain power usually associated with sentences that begin with the exclamation "PAWLLLL!" ignores the reasons why Caroll is in the NFL at the moment, and not in the NCAA. You know, all that "lack of institutional control" stuff at USC? It's going to be doubtful Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long is going to be that desperate by the end of the season. Even getting ground-and-pounded by Alabama this weekend isn't going to make that happen.
