Are Nick Saban and A.J. McCarron brothers from another mother?

Alabama left tackle D.J. Fluker provided the world with what is most possibly the most mindbending  concept of the college football off-season. (And after this off-season, that's saying a lot.) He joked that Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban and Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron acted like brothers.

“You know? They’re just like brothers,” Fluker said. “They’re both picky. … It’s just fun to watch them go at it sometimes.”

Saban of course had a little to say in how similar he and McCarron are.

“I just think that's how AJ is,” Saban said. “He loves football. He's a perfectionist. He's a great competitor. He wants to do well. He wants to make plays. He wants to be a leader. He wants his unit to do well.

“Every play that doesn't work in practice, you can see him kicking the sand or whatever with his gestures. He always bounces back for the next play.”

While there may be similarities in Saban and McCarron, it's probably safe to say that their relationship is nowhere near the level of disturbingness that was Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow. At least we can hope not.
