Plane carries banner over Penn State demanding statue of Joe Paterno be removed.

The post Freeh Report anti-Penn State Joe Paterno feeding frenzy went to a new level of absurd Tuesday morning a plane carrying a banner demanding that Penn St. "Take the (Joe Paterno) statue down or we will" flew over the school. The statue has become the target of anti-Paterno forces furious for his part in the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

It's understandable that anti-Paterno forces are wanting to make sure that the late coach's part in the handling of the Sandusky scandal is not forgotten.  But Andrew Sharp had a point when he said that "The best punishment is definitely keeping the statue up." There really isn't a right way to handle this situation. Worse, more time is being spent punishing a dead man instead of making sure that justice is served to the living who are accused of taking part in the coverup. Or making sure nothing like this ever happens again.
