Covering Dixie Like Mildew: More Petrino-palooza, Steve Spurrier's big goals, and more.

(Covering Dixie Like Mildew is the SWRT roundup of SEC news, with the occasional pesky Southern school from another conference.)

Petrino-palooza (sigh)

I've got a little list, I've got a little list.
Another list of potential replacements for embattled Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino. Yes, Arkansas State HC Gus Malzahn makes the list. As does Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart and Louisville HC Charlie Strong. (Althon Sports)

What about McGee?
Not on the list of possible Petrino successors, but nominated by Kevin Scarbinsky is University of Alabama-Birmingham's Garrick McGee. (The Birmingham News)

Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth (or at least Planet SEC)...

Meet the new boss.
Texas A&M players are learning to adjust to life under new Aggie HC Kevin Sumlin. (The Battalion)

The difficult we do immediately; The impossible takes a little longer.

Georgia fans are still soaking in former UGA golf team member Bubba Watson's 2012 Masters championship. (Dawg Sports)

I've seen the future and it will be.
Georgia adds two more commitments to its 2013 recruiting class. (The Athens Banner-Herald)

I've seen the future, and it works.

Think about the future.
Ole Miss adds a sprinkling of Sun Belt and FCS teams to its schedule for the years 2013-2016. Just to be fair, the Rebels have out-of-conference games scheduled against Texas (2012 & 2013), Boise State (2014), and Clemson (2015 & 2016) as well. (The Jackson Clarion-Ledger)

Dubious achievement of the day.
Gary Dinardo declared the worst LSU football coaching hire of the last 20 years. (And the Valley Shook)
