Big Tentacles: Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and more

(Big Tentacles is the SWRT look at the Big Ten and the schools it not-so-secretly covets.)

Promises, promises. According to Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel The Buckeye players involved in "Tatgate" had to agree to return next season and serve their suspensions, and not enter the NFL Draft in order to play in the Sugar Bowl. Hope he got that written in blood. It probably still won't work even then. (

Hyperactive. Injured Michigan cornerback Troy Woolfolk was so wired in training camp he reportedly kept his roommates awake doing things like pushups and brushing his teeth. No wonder he got injured in camp. (The Detroit News)

Move along, nothing to see here. Nebraska AD Tom Osborne sees nothing improper about the licensing deal Nebraska signed with a company owned by Husker quarterback Taylor Martinez's father. This is the same Tom Osborne whom Jim Rome used to refer to as "Brubaker." (

Same as it ever was. Another day, another story about Joe Paterno not retiring. (The Times-Tribune)

Media daze. A report on Wisconsin's Rose Bowl media day. (Bucky's 5th Quarter)

After the Glitter Fades. A look at what Iowa needs to do during the offseason. (Black Heart Gold Pants)

Fighting Illini celebrate beating Baylor in the Texas Bowl. Ron Zook winning a bowl game for the first time in the history of Zook or bowl games. They celebrated by saving a kitten in a tree. (
