Derek Dooley blames player's long convalescence on vegetarianism

Tennessee center Cody Pope has been sidelined by what head football coach Derek Dooley refers to as the "longest stinger injury in the history of college football." What's taking Pope so long to recover? According to His Hairness, it may be due to Pope's diet.

"It might be because he doesn't eat meat," Dooley said. "I'm starting to think that the meat, red meat and chicken, is the cure for stingers. That's my conclusion. We're out of any other medical options, so I'm going to try to force a steak down him tonight."

That sounds like my Nanny Blan's answer to everything. Though Dooley would probably give the credit to his mama, Barbara Dooley. At least Hairness' medical solution to Pope's stinger isn't the same as Mike Leach's solution to Adam James' concussion. Though  PeTA won't be happy with the "red meat and chicken" treatment.
