Covering Dixie Like Mildew: Chris Rainey health update, and a lot of questions

(Covering Dixie Like Mildew is the SWRT roundup of SEC and ACC news, with the occasional pesky Southern school from another conference.)

Chris Rainey health update. The Florida freshman running back is reported to have undergone a "non-invasive cardiac procedure."He's expected to return to practice later this week. (

What could stand in the  Mississippi hosting the SEC Baseball Tournament? The Confederate battle emblem on the Mississippi state flag, that's what. (Atlanta-Journal Constitution)

Better defense: ACC or SEC? Tony Barnhart brings the facts, but doesn't really try to answer the question. (Mr. College Football)

Will Virginia Tech win the ACC this season?'s experts unanimously pick the Hokies to win the ACC title this season. Georgia Tech might have something to say about that, however. (

The worst helmets in the ACC? The same survey splits the vote for worst helmet between Miami, Boston College (two votes), and Wake Forest (one vote). The votes for "The U" might be due to anti-Miami sentiment. And apparently, the plainness of BC helmets doesn't go down too well.  BC Interruption, who obviously didn't take the results so well, nominated Maryland (and it may have a point) (, BC Interruption)

As for the best helmets in the ACC? Florida State won hands down. (

Who will be Tennessee's starting QB? Matt Simms seems to have the edge over Tyler Bray. (Go Vols XTra)
