Four-star defensive end prospect Stephen Herron flips 2019 recruiting commitment from Michigan to Stanford.

From the “He’s Just Not That Into You” department comes word that Michigan has lost a member of its 2019 football recruiting class to Stanford. Louisville, Kentucky rising high school senior defensive end Stephen Herron Jr. announced that he was flipping his 2019 commitment from the Wolverines to the Cardinal on Monday. 



247Sports grades Herron as a composite four-star week-side defensive end prospect. The recruiting site’s composite prospect rankings for 2019 rank Herron at no. 5 among WDE prospects, at no. 1 among prospects from the state of Kentucky, and at no. 86 nationally. 
Herron attends Trinity High School in Louisville, Ky. He stands 6’3.5, and weighs 235 lbs. 
The adjusted numbers for Michigan and Stanford’s 2019 football recruiting classes  following Herron’s flip has the Wolverines with 18 commitments, and the Cardinal with eight commitments.
