Big Ten Universe: Trace McSorley, Jordan Fuller, Chris Ash, and more.

Big Ten Universe - June 27, 2018 edition

I've seen the future, and it will be.

Bill Bender of The Sporting News projects Ohio State as on of the four teams fighting it out in the 2018 College Football Playoff. Bender projects the Buckeyes facing Clemson in the 2018 Cotton Bowl Classic, while Alabama vs. Oklahoma are projected for the 2018 Orange Bowl. Both will be held on Dec. 29, 2018.

The bad news: Bender sees Clemson, and not Ohio St., going on to face Alabama in the College Football Playoff Championship at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. on Jam. 7, 2019.

In case you're wondering, The 2019 Rose Bowl Game is projected to feature Wisconsin vs. Washington on Jan. 1, 2019.

You're the Best Around.

Paul Myerberg of USA Today ranks Penn State starting quarterback Trace McSorley no. 1 on his list of the ten best QBs in college football. Wisconsin's Alex Homibrook, and Northwestern's Clayton Thompson make Myerberg's "Five just off the list."

I've got a little list, I've got a little list.

ESPN named the most underrated  player on each team on its preseason Top 25 list. The Big Ten is represented on the list by Ohio St. safety Jordan Fuller, Wisconsin wider receiver Danny Davis III, Michigan State defensive tackle Mike Panasluk, Michigan running back Karan Higdon, and Penn St. linebacker Koa Farmer.

Hot seat? What hot seat?

David I. Brown profiles Rutgers head coach Chris Ash, and how crucial it is that the Scarlet Knights need to show progress in this third year at the helm. Rutgers went 4-8 in the 2017 college football season, and 3-6 during Big Ten conference play. (On the Banks)
