Alabama and Georgia remain the SEC's only bowl eligible teams.

The SEC survived the chaos than engulfed the rest of college football in Week 7. Alabama and Georgia stayed unbeaten, and remain the only bowl eligible schools in the conference.

Unless otherwise noted, bowl projections are by CBS Sports' Jerry Palm.

Six-plus wins (Bowl eligible)

SEC East

Georgia (7-0, conference 4-0)

Projected bowl

2017 Orange Bowl (Dec. 30, Miami, FL)

Projected opponent

Miami (OH)

Alabama (7-0, conference 4-0)

Five wins (Magic number: 1)

SEC East

Kentucky (5-1, conference 2-1)

Next three games

Oct. 21 @ Mississippi State

Oct. 28 vs. Tennessee

Nov. 4 vs. Ole Miss

Kentucky had a bye  in Week 7, which is why the Wildcats aren't bowl eligible yet. A postseason bowl seems to be in the cards, and Tennessee and/or Ole Miss are the games where Kentucky gets bowl eligible.

Projected bowl

2017 Music City Bowl (Dec. 29, Nashville, TN)

Projected opponent

Northwestern vs. Kentucky could be the most interesting sounding matchup of the Dec. 29 bowls.

South Carolina (5-2, conference 3-2)

Next three games

Oct. 21 BYE

Oct. 28 vs. Vanderbilt

Nov. 4 @ Georgia

Nov. 11 vs. Florida

Vanderbilt and Florida are the best bets for the Gamecocks' elusive sixth win. While UGA has won the last two games, there is the distinct possibility that South Carolina can pull an upset over the Dawgs.

Projected bowl

2017 Belk Bowl (Dec. 29, Charlotte, NC)

Projected opponent

Florida State

Palm's bowl projection hasn't changed from last week.

SEC West

Auburn (5-2, conference 3-1)

Next three games

Oct. 21 @ Arkansas

Oct. 28 BYE

Nov. 4 @ Texas A&M

Nov. 11 vs. Georgia

Auburn's loss to LSU in Week 7 ended a four-game winning streak for the Tigers. It would be a surprise if Auburn goes into the Georgia game still needing a sixth win.

Projected bowl

2018 Citrus Bowl (Jan. 1, Orlando, FL)

Projected opponent
Michigan St.

Texas A&M (5-2, conference 3-1)

Next three games

Oct. 21, BYE

Oct. 28 Vs. Mississippi St.

Nov. 4 Vs. Auburn

Nov. 11 New Mexico

Texas A&M's only conference loss came against Alabama (the other loss came against UCLA). With three straight home games coming up, it would be a surprise if the Aggies went into the New Mexico game on a two-game losing streak.

Projected bowl

2017 Texas Bowl (Dec. 27, Houston, TX)

Projected opponent

Texas

The chaos engine changes The Aggies projected Texas Bowl opponent from West Virginia to Texas.

LSU (5-2 , conference 2-1)

Next three games

Oct 21 @ Ole Miss

Nov. 4 @ Alabama

Nov. 11 Arkansas

Back-to-back road games will make it more difficult for LSU to become bowl eligible. The best thing The Tigers would be beating Ole Miss and securing a sixth win before the Alabama game.

Projected bowl

2018 Outback Bowl (Jan 1, 2018, Tampa, FL)

Projected opponent

Purdue

No changes from Palm's projection last week.

Four games (magic number: 2)

SEC East

None

SEC WEST

Mississippi State (4-2, conference 1-2)

Next three games

Oct. 21 vs. Kentucky

Oct. 28 @ Texas A&M

Nov. 4 UMass.

Mississippi St. will most likely need to get s win from Kentucky or Texas A&M before it play Alabama on Nov. 11.

Projected bowl

2017 Liberty Bowl (Dec. 30, Memphis, TN)

Projected opponent

Kansas State

Palm's projection changes from the 2018 Citrus Bowl to the Liberty Bowl.

Three games (Magic number: 3)

SEC East

Florida (3-3, conference 3-2)

Next three games

Oct. 21 BYE

Oct. 28 Georgia ( @ Jacksonville)

Nov. 4 @ Missouri

Nov. 11 @ South Carolina

Could Florida still find a way to come out on top of the SEC East? Yes, if Georgia drops its next three games, including its annual showdown with the Gators in Jacksonville. Then Florida would need South Carolina and Kentucky to lose at least a couple of games.

Projected bowl

2017 TaxSlayer Bowl, Jacksonville, Ga.

Projected opponent

Tennessee (3-3, 0-3 conference)

Next three games

Oct. 21 @ Alabama

Oct 28  Kentucky

Nov. 4 Southern Miss

Tennessee is struggling  this season, and the struggling ways should arguably continue on into Tuscaloosa on Oct. 21.

Projected bowl

2017 Birmingham Bowl (Dec. 23, Birmingham, AL.)

Projected opponent

Central Florida

The Vols drop from the TaxSlayer Bowl all the way down to the Birmingham Bowl.

Vanderbilt (3-4, conference 0-4)

Next three games

Oct. 21 BYE

Oct. 28 @ South Carolina

Nov. 4 vs. Western Kentucky

Nov. 11 vs. Kentucky

Projected bowl (via Jason Kirk, SB*Nation)

2017 Birmingham Bowl

Projection opponent

South Florida

No change in bowl projection.

SEC West

Ole Miss is 3-3, but is banhammered for this season.
