Mark Richt's stint in the unemployment line may be over before it began. There are a couple of reports indicating that the former Georgia head coach will be returning to alma mater, Miami as its new head coach.

Peter Ariz of the University of Miami sports blog Canes in Sight was the first to report the story on Twitter.

ESPN's Brent McMurphy tweeted out that the WWW has confirmed Richt's hire.

Richt was fired by Georgia on Sunday after 15 seasons as head coach of the Bulldogs. Georgia is expected to officially name Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart as its new head coach next week, following the Crimson Tide's participation in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday.

Richt quarterback for Miami from 1979-1982. He served as backup for then-Hurricane QB Jim Kelly.
