Oklahoma OL Ty Darlington Named Recipient Of 2015 Wuerffel Trophy,

Let college football awards season commence! Oklahoma offensive lineman Ty Darlington has been announced as  the recipient of the 2015 Wuerffel Trophy tn honor of his service to the community.

In a statement about the award, the Big 12 cited Darlington's work with Mission of Hope, where he "helped lead three mission trips to Haiti." Also cited were he volunteer efforts, including aiding in tornado relief, and serving as the President of the Oklahoma University Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The Wuerffel Award is named after former Florida Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Danny Wuerffel, who has been recognized nationally for his work with New Orleans-based Desire Street Ministries. It is presented annually by The All Sports Association of Fort Walton Beach, Fl.

Darlington will be presented the award at the All Sports Association's annual banquet in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. on Feb. 12, 2016.
