Kyle Allen is an ex-Aggie. The starting quarterback for Texas A&M was granted his release from scholarship on Thursday, and plans to transfer to another school.

Allen posted a message to Aggie supporters in College Station, Tx. on his Twitter account on Thursday.

Allen passed for 2,210 yards, with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2015.

In an interview with FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman, Murray mentioned Oklahoma as a possible transfer possibility. Murray will have to sit out the 2016 college football season wherever he goes thanks to pesky NCAA rules regarding transfers.

True freshman Kyler Murray, who replaced Allen in several games at starting QB this season, is expected to be the starter for Texas A&M's appearance in the 2015 Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.
