Could The 2015 Arizona Bowl Be The Most Awkward Bowl Game Ever?

And the winner for the bowl that provides the best evidence that there are too many bowls is...The 2015 Arizona Bowl! What makes the Arizona Bowl a possible disaster waiting to happen? It's the first non-championship feature the awkward match-up between two schools from the same conference since Oklahoma faced Nebraska in the 1979 Orange Bowl.

2015's embarrassing achievement of not having enough bowl eligible (6-6) teams has led to the Arizona Bowl hosting two teams from the Mountain West Conference - Nevada and Colorado State.
MWC commissioner Craig Thompson was none at all too pleased at this dubious achievement, blasting the bloated amount of bowl games this season.

Wait, it gets worse. The game won't even be seen on either regular television or cable. It will be streaming from Campus Insiders. While some could consider this a watershed moment in the transition from basic cable to streaming, the landmark would have been better with two different conferences represented.
