Steve Sarkisian taking leave of absence from USC head coaching duties.

Multiple sources are reporting that USC head coach Steve Sarkisian is taking a leave of absence.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports the move was made so that Sarkisian could "seek treatment for an undisclosed condition." No further details were given to explain the league of absence.

In an incident that happened before the start of the 2015 college football season, Sarkisian appeared to be drunk at an event for USC alumni and boosters, making crude remarks about the Trojans' Pac-12 rivals and using profanity.

USC offensive coordinator Clay Helton will assume the duties of interim head coach.
