Georgia adds Elijah Holyfield, four-star RB prospect and son of boxing great Evander Holyfield, to its 2016 recruiting class.

Georgia has received the seventeenth commitment to its 2016 recruiting class from a name familiar to boxing fans. Atlanta, Ga. high school senior running back Elijah Holyfield committed to the Bulldogs on Friday.


Holyfield is the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, who was the undisputed champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.

247Sports grades Holyfield as a composite four-star running back. The recruiting website ranks Holyfield at no. 5 among 2016 running back prospects, at no. 17 among 2016 prospects from the state of Georgia, and at no. 166 in its composite rankings of 2016 prospects nationwide.

Holyfield attends Woodward Academy in College Park, Ga. he stands 5'10 and weighs 204 lbs.
