You can now scratch Georgia off the list of unresolved quarterback competitions. Bulldog head coach Mark Richt has named Greyson Lambert as the starting QB for the team's season opener against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

Lambert, who transferred to Georgia from Virginia during the offseson had been in competition for the starting QB job with Brice Ramsey, whom was the Dawgs' no. 2 QB last season, and Faton Bauta.

“There may be other or others who get in the game. But right now the thing that I know that he’ll start the game,” Richt said. “Very, very close competition. Still being contested in my mind. But at this point we felt it would be wise to name a starter and get him ready to play in this ballgame. … We’ll start playing ball that way and see how it goes.”

Georgia will face ULM at home on Saturday, Sept. 5.
