From the "Egomania goes wild" dept. comes this proclamation from Clemson cornerback Mackensie Alexander that he's the "best corner in college."

Alexander made his claim to the title of best college CB in the country in front of a group of reporters on Wednesday. Not only that, he doubled down on the narcissism by dropping the first person card as well.

“In my opinion it’s not even close,” Alexander told reporters Wednesday. “I think every guy that talks about Mackensie knows I’m the best corner in college. It’s not even close.”

“… Look at my body of work, the things I’ve put on, the things I’ve done. It’s not even close. My numbers, you look at everybody else’s numbers. I don’t care who they are and what league they play in. if you can play, you can play.”

The title of best cornerback in the country certainly has a lot of contenders. Florida State CB Jalen Ramsey may have the best claim to the title, as he is currently the highest-ranked CB in the most recent 247Sports' list of"2015 Best College Players," coming in as the no. 4 overall player in the country. Alexander comes in on the list at no. 47.

Meanwhile, Florida's Vernon Hargreaves III is the highest-ranked CB in ESPN's #CFBRank list the best players in the country, coming in at no. 4 overall. Alexander is tied for no. 81 on the list, along withwith BYU quarterback Taysom Hill, and Stanford offensive tackle Kyle Murphy.
