The "brutally honest" news of the day comes from SEC Media Days in Hoover, Al. In his media session on Tuesday, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin explained exactly why he hired first year Aggies defensive coordinator John Chavis away from LSU.

"Sumlin was asked about the Chavis hire plenty at the 2015 SEC Media Days on Tuesday and had some good thoughts about why he pulled Chavis away from Baton Rouge. When asked if he "kind of" hired Chavis because Texas A&M couldn't beat the LSU defense, Sumlin's response was perfect.

"Not kinda, that's exactly what I did," quipped Sumlin."

Chavis served as LSU defensive coordinator under Tigers head coast Les Miles from 2009-2014. Texas A&M lost to LSU in the two schools past four meetings, including the 2011 Cotton Bowl, and the Aggies' first three years in the SEC Conference.
