Ohio State has dropped the banhammer on four players. Buckeye defensive end Joey Bosa, wide receivers Jalin Marshall and Corey Smith, and running back Dontre Wilson have all been suspended for the first game of the season against Virginia Tech on Sept. 7.
The school's given reason for the suspension is the ever-vague "violating of Department of Athletics Policy. ESPN's Joe Schad has a different and less opaque reason for the suspensions.

Chad didn't explain whether the four players each committed both offensives, or if each player had committed one offense or the other, or if it was a combination of both.
Ohio St. will be facing Virginia Tech on the road on Sept. 7. The Hokies handed the Buckeyes the team's only loss in 2014.
