Georgia has landed the graduate transfer quarterback it had been looking for. According to multiple reports, former Virginia QB Greyson Lambert has decided to transfer to Georgia.

Lambert, a Georgia native, confirmed his decision to transfer to Georgia in a text message to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

As a graduate transfer, Lambert will be eligible to play in the 2015 college football season.

Lambert faces stiff competition for the starting QB position this season at Georgia. Brice Ramsey, who stepped into the starting QB job last following Hutson Mason's season-ending injury, faced off against Faton Buata and Jacob Park for the starting QB role in spring practice.

Lambert started nine games for Virginia in 2014. He threw for 1,972 yards, with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season. He was sidelined for the  three games during the middle of the season due to an ankle injury.

Virginia went 5-7 last season, so Georgia supporters should be prepared to curb their enthusiasm over Lambert's decision at least a notch or two.
