Georgia head coach Mark Richt can thank Krispy Kreme for landing four-star offensive linebacker prospect Sam Madden.

According to Atlanta station WXIA, Richt and Madden's father made a late night run to an Athens area Krispy Kreme during Madden's recent visit to the Georgia campus.

"Late Friday night, Dave Madden, Sam's father, and Richt decided to head over to Krispy Kreme and grab a few donuts before they tuckered out for the evening. According to Derek Cleveland, the father of Class of 2016 five-star lineman Ben, who was also at Georgia this weekend, said it really let the Madden family know they picked the right place.
"I know one of the things that Dave said Friday night after they kind of settled down a little bit, was he and Mark Richt went to Krispy Kreme to get some donuts," Cleveland said. "He thought that was just the coolest thing in the world that the head coach at Georgia would just take time and they would do that."

Madden, who attends Barnegat High School in Barnegat, NJ, had recently decommitted from Wisconsin.
