Wisconsin QB Joel Stave's status clarified as having "throwing issues."

The situation involving Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave is either clearing up or getting murkier. Badger head coach Gary Andersen admitted that Stave was not actually injured, as previously reported. It's looking more like a case of what commonly called "the yips."

Stave described the situation to reporters as not being "comfortable" with throwing the ball.

"I've thrown how many thousands of balls in my life?" Stave said. "I know when it hurts and when it doesn't. I don't know what it is. It just isn't right, I guess."
Stave later said that the pressure he put on himself to succeed might be a factor in his throwing troubles.

"On some level, I'm a perfectionist," he said. "A lot of quarterbacks are. This game is so incredibly important to me that when I maybe miss a throw or something, I start to think, 'What can I do to fix it?' Sometimes I may overthink things."
