Report: James Franklin offered Penn State head coaching job.

James Franklin's days has head coach of Vanderbilt may be numbered, if not completely over. ESPN reports that Penn State has offered Franklin the job of head coach of the Nittany Lions. Franklin reportedly will make his decision on whether to take the job or to stay in Nashville on Thursday.

Franklin was born in Pennsylvania, so the home ties, along with the money Penn St. can offer, will probably make it difficult for Franklin to turn the job down. The only downside is of course the fact the Penn State football program is still barred from the postseason for another three years.
