Oregon pretty in pink helmet and socks for breast cancer awareness.

Uncle Phil's Misguided Children

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. That can lead to some ah, interesting ways to promote it when it comes to sports via items like pink gloves or bats. Of course, Uncle Phil's Misguided Children at Nike had to go and raise the bar for this kind of endeavor coming up with what Oregon will be wearing this weekend as it faces Washington State.

Oregon will be going all out with a pink-and-black attack with a combination of black unis and pink helmets, cleats, and socks. It actually looks better than the Freudian Nightmare you might have imagined coming from the nexus of Nike and Oregon.

You'll get a chance to own those helmets as well. The pink Oregon helmets are going to be auctioned off to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund beginning on October 19. Twenty-five helmets will be available for auction, including some that will be autographed by former Oregon football legends such as Dan Fouts, Ahmad Rashad, and Joey Harrington. Uncle Phil Knight himself will be autographing a helmet as well.
