It's judgement day for Miami as the NCAA finally deals out punishment over the scandal involving former booster Nevin Shapiro giving improper benefits to former players. The good news for Miami is that it escapes a bowl ban. The bad news: The U will lose nine scholarships over then next three years.
Miami has been under self-imposed sanctions, which have included sitting out the ACC championship game last season, and not going to bowl games for the past two seasons.
The sanctions come two-and-a-half years after the beginning of the NCAA investigation.
