Lane Kiffin is an ex-USC head football coach.

Yes, Lane. That just happened.

USC has decided it's had enough of Lane Kiffin. The school announced that is had fired Kiffin as the Trojans' head football coach after a 62-41 loss to Arizona State.

According to a press release on the Trojan's official site, USC athletic director Pat Haden told Kiffen of the decision to fire him when the team returned to Los Angeles following the loss to Arizona St. The loss was seen as a serious blow to the team's chances to overcome early-season troubles, as it dropped USC to 0-2 in the Pac-12 Conference, and 3-2 overall this season.

This is the latest moment on the long strange trip known as Lane Kiffin's career in football. It follows a tumultuous stint as HC of the Oakland Raiders, and a controversy-filled season at Tennessee.

USC has scheduled a press conference where Haden will discuss Kiffin's firing to the media for Sunday afternoon. A flurry of suggestions for Kiffin's replacement are bound to follow.
