Nick Saban on media attention to A.J. McCarron.

Alabama starting quarterback A.J. McCarron has gotten lots of media attention in recent days, with throwing out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in Mobile, Al., last Saturday and being honorary pace car driver at the Aaron's 499 at Talledega Superspeedway on Sunday. That's not including all the attention girlfriend Katherine Webb has gotten.

What does McCarron's head football coach, Nick Saban, think about all the attention? Asked about it at a Crimson Caravan stop in Huntsville, Al,, Saban was rather diplomatic about in his response.

"AJ has had some opportunities for some really good exposure, and he should enjoy it," Saban said. "I have been in the pace car at Talladega, too.

"AJ is pretty mature about what's important in the next 365 days, and he will work to accomplish that."

Of course Saban probably wasn't too happy about the media attention McCarron got for wearing a Waka Flcka Flame "Do Right U Gain Success" (DRUGS) beanie. But Saban isn't one to air the program's dirty laundry out in public. Or criticize his starting Q.B.'s more unfortunate fashion choices.
