Penn State defensive coordinator Ted Roof leaves for Gerogia Tech.

Penn State defensive coordinator Ted Roof is leaving Happy Valley for the ATL. Roof has accepted the Georgia Tech DC position on Yellow Jacket head football coach Paul Johnson's coaching staff. Roof, a GT alum, played  linebacker for the Jackets 1982-1985.

“I’ve known Ted for a long time and I’m excited that he has decided to come back to Georgia Tech,” coach Paul Johnson said in a statement.  “He’s one of the most respected football coaches in the nation.”

Roof also served on former Georgia Tech HC George O'Leary's coaching staff 1998-2001, with one year as linebackers coach, and three as O'Leary's DC.
