Florida QB Jeff Driskel officially out for Jacksonville St., could miss regular season ender against FSU.

Florida ended any serious speculation about Jeff Driskel's availability for Saturday's game against Jacksonville State by officially announcing that the injured quarterback will be out Saturday due to a sprained ankle.

Coach Will Muschamp ruled Driskel out Wednesday because of a sprained right ankle, saying Jacoby Brissett will start against the Gamecocks (6-4). It will be Brissett's third start in two seasons.

More importantly, Muschamp says he's unsure whether Driskel will be able to play when the Gators (9-1) travel to rival and 10th-ranked Florida State on Nov. 24.

The possibility that Driskel could miss the FSU game lowers the possibilities that the Gators could beat the Seminoles, and the team's chances to vault Georgia for a spot in a BCS bowl.
