Embattled Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley was asked about a story published on Mr. SEC today that he had offered to resign following the Vols' embarrassing loss to Knetucky at the end of the 2011 season. His Hairness veiminetly denied the story, dropping some non-Barbara Dooley approved language in doing so.

Dooley called the report “absurd” and said “I’d be a real dumbass to do that.”

As for his own future, Dooley said he understands why fans are upset.

“They should be,” he said. “We’re not meeting expectations. There’s no point in defending it. We just need to play better.”
