Storm Klein is an ex-Buckeye after arrest on domestic violence charges.

Well, this didn't take long. Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer has kicked Storm Klein off the team after the linebacker charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges.

“It has been made very clear that this type of charge will result in dismissal,” Meyer said in a statement. “If there are any changes in the charges, we will re-evaluate his status.”Klein, a linebacker from Licking Valley High School near Newark, was arraigned in Franklin County Municipal Court yesterday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charges after his arrest at his Columbus apartment. He was in handcuffs at the arraignment and was represented by a public defender. Afterward, he and his family retained attorney Larry James, who last night seized on the second part of Meyer’s statement.

“I appreciate that the university has kept the door open” for a possible return, James said. “The facts I think will bode very well in Storm Klein’s favor.”

Prosecutors claim Klein "got into a physical confrontation with a former girlfriend," and reportedly "threw her against the front door." Klein's attorney claims "the former girlfriend showed up unannounced to talk about their relationship, started raising havoc and was forcibly put outside the front door by Klein."
