Alabama don't need no stinkin' Badgers, turns down chance to play Wisconsin.

Do I scare you, Saban?
Alabama is kicking off the 2012 season with a game against Michigan at Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Tx. It played a home-at-home series against Penn State in 2010 and 2011. You would think after that Nick Saban and crew wouldn't turn down a chance to face off against the biggest dog in the Big Ten the past couple of years, Wisconsin. well, you'd be wrong. Alabama has reportedly turned down several offers to play the Badgers under various scenarios.

"According to Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez, Alabama was offered opportunities for both a one-time neutral site game with the Badgers and a home-and-home series and the Tide declined both offers. The talks were orchestrated by ESPN, according to the report, and was one of several discussions started by Wisconsin in an attempt to improve their out of conference scheduling in an effort to increase the Badgers' national reputation in the new four-team playoff era."

It's not like The Tide is skirting playing top BCS schools. It's signed on to play in back-to-back Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games against Virginia Tech in 2013, and West Virginia in 2014. And 'Bama has Michigan State scheduled for home-at-homes against Michigan State in 2016 and 2017, and Georgia Tech in 2019 and 2020. So it might just be a case of having too much already on the table. That or Saban fears Bucky Badger as much as I do.
